Work around for the rocking back and forth motion when stopping...

I tried a couple of things today and found a work-around for the rocking back and forth motion that I have noticed when I take my foot off of the brake pedal after stopping and switching off the car!

Basically, if you try to engage the electronic brake manually after you have come to a complete stop and before you switch off the car and take your foot off of the brake, then when you finally have switched off the car and take your foot off of the brake pedal, the rocking back and forth motion is gone!!!

I have tried this a few times now and have found this to work like a charm. However, this also means that you have to manually disengage the electronic parking brake when you start the car.

I don't notice too much unacceptable rocking back and forth when I apply the brake to come to a complete stop at the traffic lights, but this was what was bothering me when I released my foot from the brake pedal after I parked. Now hopefully this helps others too :-)

Good job in giving people a work around until Acura solves this problem.

So this is a problem with SH-AWD as well as P-AWS versions?

If only that were the real issue. The car rocks after you come to a stop with the engine running and trans in drive. That's what we were talking about. If it only did it when the car is put in park once at the end of a trip it wouldn't be that bad.

The parking brake will auto release if you have your seat belt on, put the car in drive (or reverse), and then press on the gas.

Can't you just put it in neutral just before stopping? Like dipping the clutch in a manual.

My workaround for this issue when stopping at every traffic light is for Acura to issue a fix ASAP. They were aware of this issue before customer purchased cars first started coming off assembly line from day one. They were also aware of jerky transmission shifting from day one.

So how do we know they were aware of these issues from day one? This is an honest question, not snark.

I still have not seen this rocking back and forth and I have the I4 Tech. Car rides great after 2500+ miles.

I am sorry to hear of your misfortune.

I believe the rocking motion is a possible attribute of the V6 model, not the I4 (based on what I've read on the forum).

I'm curious as well. Regardless, I hope they are aware and are working on fixes.
