Trailer hitch bike rack
I know the TLX is suppose to be a luxury car. But I have traded our 2 car and come this summer I need a bike rack for 2 bikes.
Is there someone who installed a hitch for bike rack? I looked at Accord forum since our car is almost similar and found this Bike Rack - Page 3 - Drive Accord Honda Forums
Anyway I can't imagine how the TLX will look like with bike hitch

Can't say for the TLX but there are 4G TLs with the hitch installed

Trailer Hitch
My first post here. We have owned our 2015 TLX for less than 2 weeks. So far, we love it.
I've posted in other places, most notably in the 1996 Maxima forums. We still own that car -- bought it new in March 1996, now has 216k miles on it. I've had that car pretty much all the way apart, although not in one job.
Anyway, I have found this rack:
Hitch Depot USA | Curt Trailer Hitch #11409
I wanted to link to this site specifically, because their installation instructions have color pictures of the final installation. I think the hitch looks okay, but it seems a little low to me. Was wondering if others might think the same. This retailer is also great for me, since it's about 100 miles from where I live. I bet I'd have it in 2 days. Probably a great location for anyone who lives anywhere from Seattle to San Diego; I actually live in the closest big city.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I did notice that this can be had for $5 less if you get it from the same retailer on amazon instead.

I was talking to the dealer about a hitch for a bike rack. If you lease, be careful....the owners manual says do not tow. When turning in the lease, if they see the hitch, there may be issues with wear and tear and charges for removing a welded in hitch. Thus no factory hitch is offered.
Just what i've been told by one dealer. Interested to know if anyone has additional info.

The Curt is bolted in.

Two 20 lb bikes is my limit. I've seen too many trunk mounted racks fall off.

I posted this same question on here about a year ago. I've held off on getting racks for my TLX. I have roof racks which I don't want to use because it might mar the rooftop surface.
My dealer cautioned me at installing even an accessory hitch though because trimming the heat shield was considered a modification of a safety device/design on the vehicle and might void a part of the warranty. I am unsure that I.... really believe that but I didn't want to take the chance until I saw other ppl with hitch mounts.

I'd probably not risk it if she was leased but if i bought it, i would do it.
Bok bok bok.

I got mine installed last night. The Curt hitch is very nicely made. It'll work great with the bike racks I have.
One note on the installation: These hitches can be modified by UPS on the way in. On mine, the "arms" were about half an inch too close together. This is enough to where you will not be able to install it. I ended up using a car jack and pushing the arms apart.
This really is Curt's fault, because they should strap that sucker into the delivery box. It should require a strapping cutter to take it out of the box, instead of being loose inside the box. But I was in the driveway, working by light at about 9 last night, holding it up and realizing it wasn't going to fit.
The Curt installation instructions kind of blow one thing, too. They don't describe where the front bolts should go very well at all. They go into the LARGER of the holes that are farther from the bumper. You'll see what I mean once you get there.
The hitch isn't obtrusive at all. I kind of wonder if it'll interfere with the crumple zone in the event of a crash, though.
That aluminum heat shield really doesn't do much. I guess because of the color, it might reflect some heat. There's really no way trimming it can make the car less safe.
Overall, I'm satisfied.
I plan to pass these observations on to Curt.

did someone had an issue with trailer wiring for TLX? i mean the car is on LED lights and those are low voltage, compared to most trailer with no leds, will it output enough current for trailer lights?
