Long time ago some one posted a type s version of the tlx, i loved it and brought the tlx this month i completed the type s grill ... please enjoy comment and give feed back its easy and the mod wont hurt you if you want to go back to the original look if you have $200 to get the oem grill back but im not going back might change the mesh type but lets see what you guys think !!!!

I have no idea and often wonder why folks distort the plate image when posting - but not everyone does. I mentioned it only because it looks like hell and will likely scratch / damage your dash. Are you planning on getting the front plate mount or is putting it there supposed to help with a LEO if you get stopped?

 

idk about a mount but yea if i get stopped they cant say failure to display both plates ... i was going 140 on the highway yesterday with an accord sport trying to keep up

 

there are things you shouldnt say outloud.....

 

it was a hard decision but the air flow is unrestricted and you can feel it in the cars response

 

If you get stopped @ 140 your plate is probably the least of your worries.

To heavy looking for me. Not a fan of front drive proportions & this adds to it.

 

Nice work. Points earned for originality. The design is a bit old school but I like it. I'm sure this will grab the attention of other TLX owners on the road.

I think this is a really good start, and from the three photos you posted you've got pieces fitting correctly around the edges. Based off the original image that inspired you, the things I see that make a difference are the inner lines. The top line is straighter and set higher in yours, whereas the original angles down more. The bottom two lines sag a little on yours. In the original, the bottom two lines are more angular and V-shaped. Maybe it's just the lighting and angle in the original image, but the bottom two lines look thinner than yours, too.

Overall I think this is a really cool build, beats the beak, and looks more unique than a 2018 build.

 

Looks awesome! How did you do this? Did you fabricate this yourself or is it a kit? If the latter, how much was it and can you provide a link?

If the mesh had matched the ones by the fog lights I think it'd be a bit cleaner. But is a pretty clean mod and I think only a the black TLX can pull it off.

Too many lines in that grille. Would look better with no lines, just a floating "A". However, that does look 2G TL/CL-ish so there's something to it. Definitely better than the Beak.
