Took a TLX out for a test drive yesterday. The salesman showed us the reverse cross traffic alert, visual arrow on backup screen but no beep warning of some object behind. Can a beep be added to the alert . The salesman tried and could not find how to add the beep warning. Also, does the alert pick up people walking behind the car or just other vehicles. Have a Camry XLE that does both and sounds a beep which is a wonderful safety feature.

 

Mine beeps - it's a cool feature. I'll see if I can find where the beep on/off is.

 

I am not sure if this is available on USA cars. It might be one of those "Canada Only" features.

 

Some earlier production Tech models had software that did not cause the beep to occur when the warning appeared. Mid-October, the problem was corrected (mine was produced at mid-October and mine beeps, along with the arrow). Your test drive was probably on an early model. No definite word on a fix, as some posters report the Nov 1 software update did not fix that, but did add a number of other features which were useful.

 

Pretty much what jim256 above said. I bought my V6 Advance model at the end of August and it's always beeped.

Took possession of my V6 Advanced on 9/13. Mine beeps.

 

V6 Tech and took delivery August 14th. Doesn't beep and ODMD update last week didn't correct issue. Acura is aware of the issue. Seems 4 cylinder techs beep, Advance and SW-AWD beeps. Apparently there are several thousand V6's that don't. Someone didn't verify programming software line code before these cars went into production; very stupid mistake IMHO, but no one asked me. No fix yet as of last week.

 

My understanding is that all Advances beep, regardless of production date; and all 4 cylinder Techs and all V6 Techs produced AFTER mid October also beep.
The ones missing the beeps are all I4 Tech and all V6 Tech produced prior to mid October, and as you said- no fix available yet.

I, too, took delivery of my V6 Tech on August 14th!

 

Mine beeps. It is probably under Vehicle Settings on the MID.

 

Mine does not beep. I'm in Canada and I drive the V6 SH-AWD. Picked it up on October 20th. My sales rep said it was built on Oct 6th. Going to ask service dept whats going on.

 

This VIN should beep, might want to check settings.

 

Mine Beeps - V-6 Advance. System gives a pretty good advance notice of cross traffic. I find myself staring at the camera for a good while before crossing vehicle shows up.
