Lightbulb Those with red interiors....

Hello all,

I am looking to get a 2022 Type-S with red interior. They are hard to find. I was wondering, from those who have other trim levels (A-SPec, etc), how has the red interior fared over the years? Any fading? How is it to keep clean?

2019 A-Spec here with red seats, so far so good previous owner took care of the seats and they don’t wear down easily but you will notice slight wear in high skin/cloth contact areas of the seat but they hood up well and pretty easy to keep clean. No fading yet that I can see.

Thanks for the response. Do you have any pictures of the slight wear you are referring to?

I have a 2018 A-Spec w/tech, AWD and red leather. The seats show almost no wear with 27k miles on the car. I use lexol to clean and condition the leather.

When your referring to the "color" you should keep in mind some additional factors. If you have red leather or say black leather, its the same leather, just with a different dye to make it a different color. I sold Acuras for a few years until recently and here is my opinion:

-- First of all. Get what you WANT. If you want red, but your concern is "oh it might possibly ware ever so slightly more than a black" well that is your future self's problem haha get it and enjoy it
-- Black shows the least ware, but keep in mind, it itself doesn't ware less than a different color, its just darker and makes it ever so slightly less noticable
-- Your best bet is to maintain it well. Go on Amazon and buy some leather cleaner and conditioner and apply it to your seats every few months and you will be so happy you did.

I clean my seats often (99 4Runner 2014 Pilot 2015 TLX) and if you do it then your leather will last long.

Once again, if you like the red , GET RED and just enjoy it . Ive had people come in telling me they want a blue car but want to purchase white because of resale value. I would tell them who cares get what makes you happy.

GOOOOOOOOOD LUCK!

I 100% agree. The worst feeling is buyers remorse when you see what you really wanted drive by or park near you....hence why I don't listen to my wife. I have the Red interior 2 years now and no signs of wear. I also wipe on a leather conditioner every once in a while. I find that helps with any cars with leather seats. Go with your gut and call it a day.
