I originally thought that red would be too much but a close couple of friends have it and it is sexy...
if she wants something that's different but not as in your face, look for that dark brown interior color. That one is also quite nice.

I have a mondern steel with red interior, I like the way it looks, all black just seems so boring with those seats. Of course, some will disagree, but to each their own right? All of my friends who have been in the car love the seats and interior. My second color choice was Apex Blue, and I still probably would have went with the Blue/Red combo.

I was like, this guy must be fuckin with us, he can't be this dense.
I was going to make a joke that would have been in poor taste too.
I should have anyway.
I have that same colour combo on order. We have had same boring black interiors for years and are looking for something a little different this time around. Having said that, this is the first time we have leased and I’m sure we can live with it for 4 years.
This is exactly the way my wife felt. Except for a white '14 RDX with parchment interior, she's mostly had white /black vehicles. Since we bought the vehicle this afternoon, she better like it.
Not as extreme as red leather but my 2007 RDX was royal blue pearl, that is an EXTREMELY rare color for the 1G RDX. Since not very many people bought that color, I'm under the impression it was also not as popular as the other choices but when I went to sell it, the rarity meant I had people willing to pay full price. Yes my experience is anecdotal at best, but I personally think unpopular color choices don't always hurt resale.
Having owned many vehicles and color combinations over more years than I care divulge I've learned there are some colors that are captivating - but only for a short period of time. For me that's a blue exterior (any shade) or a red interior (any shade), I've owned both more than once and in every case was ready for a change in less than a year. The blue A-Spec with the red interior is a complete non-starter for me - I think in a different thread I referred to the combination as 'garish and hideous' - but that's just my opinion. If they weren't selling they wouldn't be manufactured so obviously enough people feel differently that it's profitable for Acura. That's the beauty of having choices and a free market system.
Bottom line, if it works for you it's right.

When I decided to look at the RDX, I specifically wanted the red leather. I had to narrow down my choices as a few paint finishes didn’t have the red leather option...like silver or red exterior. Had the car for almost two months now and no regrets on the red leather...only remorse may be whether I should’ve waited and looked at the modern steel color.

You will find less people that want the red interior.
The ones that DO want the red interior will pay a premium to get it.
So although it might be a longer time to sell it...to the right buyer it'll sell immediately so it won't hurt resale.

This exactly! You might take a bit longer to sell (sometimes not at all) but the buyer who wants red will pay a premium for it. So don't sweat resale.
I have a Black Aspec with red interior and love it. Every guest who enters the vehicle comments on how nice it is. The red is a much more pleasant then the bright red in the Lexus RX350 FSports. It's different then any other car I've owned. I test drove black interior Acuras, Lexus and Audis and found them to be dark. You only live once …
I love the red interior and like mentioned above, its very subtle compared to other vehicles. I too get lots of compliments. I actually with it had more red (arm rest and door panels) like the TLX A-Spec.
Parchment, now thats a hideous colour for an interior.

Now the red in the lexus vehicles looks like absolute shit because it's fake leather. It looks like plastic. BMW does a GORGEOUS coral red leather interior. Love it.
I actually don't mind parchment, I personally prefer lighter colored interiors just because it feels so cheery. My last 8 vehicles have had black interiors just because that was what was available with the exterior color and good God I am TIRED of black. I'm going to make absolutely certain my next car is not a black interior.
A few people mentioned that it was too much in the RDX so I had to double check and look at some pics again. It really isn't that bright and exactly they really don't have that much red either. The whole back of the seats is black and really just 2 sections on each side are red. I also want red door panels inserts and a red center console cover.

I plan on getting another red interior again on my next. I do have to say, if you go red, go real leather, which I believe is all that Acura offers.
I've seen red interiors on some vehicles (i.e. Ford Mustang) and they looked like shit. Way too bright and "fake plastic" texture.
I think the red interiors in Acura look great and not too bright, would definitely buy one.
I custom ordered the coral red in my BMW. I've never had so many compliments on an interior of a vehicle before. I've had it now for 5+ years and I have never grown tired of it, since it still looks great.

Acura uses leatherette on the base RDX but that doesn't even come in red so it's no big deal and I totally agree, red looks awful on fake leather.

I waited for the thread to become lame to derail
and PS, any guy that thinks that his wife being unhappy with something isn't his problem...

Well, if you're a compassionate mate, it'll be your problem because you care.
That said, if she is drawn to the red interior it's probably because she likes it and won't have a problem getting into it every day.
It's a car...enjoy it for a while, then move on. This isn't your firstborns first name you're picking here.
and NOOOOO...not mature at all! I'm too young to be mature!

The red interior is really nice! It's rare. It's looks sporty. It's way better than plain old black and brown. I would definitely get it.
