Loving my new 2016 TLX
It's been a long wait, but I've been driving my new 2016 TLX V6 Advance for 10 days now.
Test drove a 2015 TLX V6 on September 2nd and ordered the 2016 TLX V6 Advance. I placed an order that day to ensure that my color choice, SSM/Graystone, would get on the manufacturing schedule. Salesperson said that the first ones they build are CBP/Espresso and SSM/Ebony. My car was “born” on October 19th. It arrived at the dealer on November 4th and I picked-up on November 7th. I only drove it a block to my detail shop where they did a full protection package, including 3M Pro protective film and window tinting. I FINALLY got to drive it home on November 11th– over two months after ordering!
I LOVE this car. My previous car was a 2000 Accord EX V6 which was totaled in August with only 112,000 miles on it. I’m still on a learning curve with all the new tech features of the TLX.
The salesperson did try to swing me to a great deal on the 2015 TLX, but when I told him my mind was made up, he let it go. I was impressed that he didn’t try to push harder. He only asked me what my reasons were. While I know I would have saved a bundle of money, I’m still extremely happy with no regrets.

Of course everyone wants to know about the transmission. Did you drive the 2015 to compare?

Congrats and welcome to the forum! You will love the SSM/Grey combo even more as you see how the SSM changes in different light.
Apparently, according to many reviewers, the two screens are "confusing", which always makes me chuckle. I find them anything but and enjoy being able to keep the map up while I have audio and climate below. Interested in your thoughts?

I test drove the 2015 V6, but not on the freeway. As people have said on this site, the dealer likely hand-picked a demo car with a good transmission. So far, my 2016 doesn't have a hint of a transmission problem. However, it only has 156 miles on it, and I understand that the problem doesn't start immediately.
When the sales guy asked why I wanted a 2016, I told him I've heard of a transmission problem. He didn't try to deny it, was just silent and took my order.
As for price, no budging at all. In fact they increased it about $200 over online list for the 2015. When the 2016's finally showed up online, my base was exactly as shown. Since it was clear they didn't want to sell the 2016's, I didn't see where there was any basis to negotiate. I don't love it any less

As to color of the SSM, I do think I notice a blue undertone in some light conditions. At least it's subtle. My 2000 Accord EX V6 was Signet Silver. I had bought it on a sunny day, and a couple of weeks later when it was overcast it turned to purple! Not that it's ever overcast or rainy in Seattle. My daughter was merciless in calling it my purple car. I just wanted a silver car and the blue undertone is pleasing.

2015 TLX V6 Tech
I have had my TLX since May, about 6,000 miles on it. Trips to Austin, New Orleans, and the long one through New Mexico (Ruidoso, Santa Fe, Taos, Red River). We did 550 miles one day on the long trip, and I was still refreshed when we got to Carlsbad. The car is truly a joy to drive. I did economy mode for cruising on the interstate, all conditions, the computer said I averaged about 39 MPG (some 65, 70 and 75 MPH). I divided my miles on a tank by the number of gallons I put in, and I was about 2 miles per gallon LOWER than the computer said, I have seen others report this on this forum. Still, 37 MPG is quite good, I'm ecstatic. The car is quiet, handles well, V6 has plenty of power, sport mode in the mountains around Red River downshifted well, the paddle shifter takes a little getting used to in the mountains to manually downshift, but that was a fun little exercise I was not used to as Houston is so flat. I used the USB source for the radio, I like that. I used many features of the car that I don't use in neighborhood driving, and I appreciated them. This is my 3rd TL, they hit my value point.
