Yes PLEASE share details! I called my dealership where I pre-ordered and they are expecting 5 TLXs between Sunday and Thursday. They're not sure which 5 yet. While I hope mine will be one of them, I doubt it. If it's not one of them, I'll still go to check it out and test drive...can't wait for mine to come in!!!

I got there a few minutes too late, so I have to go back in the morning... they took my driver's license and gave me the keys then discovered that the Mgr had already left. They had every color except for blue and silver. I'm only interested in silver, so that was a bummer... they believe it won't be manufactured until the next phase.
I did get to sit inside of it and play around... I've seen the production model in person numerous times as well as the prototype but never got to play inside. The interior is decent... it's quiet... There's however much more plastic material on the dashboard and covering the doors. It's at least a softer plastic material than the tsx and tl.... I suppose. I didn't take many pictures because I've already posted a lot of pictures of the production model from various angles of a blue and a white tlx in the pictures thread. Also they were surrounded by other cars so I'd only be able to get the front and back...
Here's something random that I noticed... I'm not sure if anyone has ever noticed this... it's regarding the behavior of how the lights flash when you lock/unlock the doors of current and previous Honda and Acura vehicles. Acura and Honda have always used the parking lights to flash when unlocking/locking the doors... versus the turn signal indicators like other manufacturers. The parking lights also flash at a much slower speed. Well they've changed this behavior with the TLX... Now when locking/unlocking the doors, the turn signal indicators flash... (so this would include the turn signals on the mirrors). They also flash more rapidly. I dunno why, but that was shocking to me. (in a good way) lol. I still hate that the rear turn signals are incandescent versus LED though.
The TLX appears super small.... it really doesn't look significantly bigger than an ILX... It looks slightly smaller than the TSX and strangely it did appear to have about the same room in the back as the current TL.
I absolutely do love the espresso brown interior, but unfortunately it's not available with silver
There have been many complaints about the clarity of the backup camera on the MDX. The backup camera on the TLX appeared to be decent. I'll test it more tomorrow.
The chrome/metal in the interior near the lower display was already super smudged up by fingerprints... sooo not sure if someone was eating a bucket of chicken while they were playing around, if not... lol, it's a mega fingerprint magnet on that area. The wood accents are very glossy and were also super smudged with fingerprints.
Here's one picture at least that gives you perspective of what the car looks like next to an ILX.
I forgot to take a shot of the copper TLX on the other side, but it was parked next to a TSX... The back of the TLX looked really bland compared to the TSX. I think the chrome strip on the TSX had a lot to do with it.
Anyway, I'll drive one tomorrow and play around a little more.

thanks for the tidbits. I would suggest if you do a write up on a test drive open up a new topic dedicated to that. Look forward to your thoughts on the test drive.
The Copper Black Pearl is that there and if so some thoughts?

I more than likely won't do a write up. This tlx madness is wearing me out... Black copper pearl is very dark... It was on a different section of the lot. In most lighting you can barely tell the difference between that, black and graphite.

I'm confused about the exterior tail/turn signal lighting. At 4:20, Acura's "TLX Design: Interior Luxury Features" video (YouTube), refers to "full LED tail lights." People on here have have mentioned they are incandescent. Can someone clarify?

The new MDX doesn't even have LED brake lights anymore... and never had LED rear or front turn signals. The LED brake lights were removed on model year 2014.
Acura has never had a model with rear or front LED turn signals. The RLX even has incandescent rear and front turn signals.

The brake lights are LED. The accent lighting/parking lights above the brake lights are LED light pipes. The turn signals are incandescent... and not attractive imo. If I have to have incandescent rear turn signals, I'd rather them be amber versus red. It makes a big difference (to me at least).

I think a possibility is that for turn signals Acura wanted the slower blink of incandescent over LED for visibility (smooth tick-tock), whereas for brakes it's a trend to want that LED rapid response attention getter like on bikes. I would have preferred LED.

As for the colors, I remember back in the days of the RSX, almost everyone in forums wanted the rear turn signal lights to be red to better match the entire rear light assembly. Now some wished those on the TLX were amber?! Strange. Goes to show, you can't please everyone.

I think Acura plain and simple wanted to save a few $$$.Such a shame as the industry trend is going LED. Just from a pure safety stand point LED is superior, I hate trying to guess what a car is doing when their turn signals or brake lights are burned out.

You can count on the turn signal on the side-mirrors, which is LED.

Seriously? Come on now we can't have it all, great price but everything under the sun, people are just never happy. This is a lot of car for the money, no doubt.

Drifting
I've driven a number of Hyundai/Kia rentals (they're very popular on the rental lots), but not a Genesis. They do come with a lot of facially attractive features. What I've found with all of them, however, is that when you drive them they lack the refinement in switch feel, comfort and driving dynamics that Honda and Toyota offer. As an example, I'm not an SUV fan but recently had a Santa Fe on vacation. Brand new. There was a lag in throttle response (nothing, nothing, whoa) that was disconcerting. Same with braking - soft, soft, then screeech. These are the things that are harder to get right, but that the average driver can't see and probably does not care about.

The situation you described about burned out rear turn signal is so rare to most people, especially with Honda/Acura, it's a non-issue. Besides, even LED lights can go wrong (bad wiring for example).
As for other car manufacturers, they probably cut cost somewhere else, like to things you can't see but are equally, if not more, important; things that you realize are failing you sooner than expected a couple of years down the road.

2010 TL AWD 6MT: New King
Same thing occurred with the new Porsche Macan. The first ones to arrive at the dealership were already presold before anyone even got a chance to test drive the vehicle.

I'm thinking we'll get ours at the end of the month. 4 Cylinders in September. I miss those days when Acuras were made in Japan, we got ours first because the boat dropped them off on the way to California.
#188
Is it possible that yours is not among the first to arrive? Our first 4 cylinders have a west coast ETA of 8/15. They still need to get on a boat to finish the journey. These Techs are first two...(TWO?) we will receive. There are two more base 4 cylinders a week behind these.

One of the DFW dealers I talked with said they'll get some around September. Another person at the same dealership said sometime middle-to-late August. Neither seemed too sure. To be fair, neither were salesmen - one was a service rep and the other just happened to pick up the phone. I just called another dealer that said if they're lucky they should have some by the end of the week.
I know the former dealer had told me they were only getting something like 9 in their first shipment, I think. I'd pre-order, but I'd like to see and drive the dang thing first.

Hey, Stew. You're near my old stomping grounds. Where are you getting your car from and any ideas when or if they'll have or if they already have inventory? I could potentially buy from the Houston area, too.

Summer is Coming
I'm near the Clear Lake dealer and drove past today after work... still no TLX's.
