Just bought an A-Spec

Just joined the forum!

My wife's lease on her RDX was up earlier this year and I had been looking for a CPO'd Macan GTS so when I found the right one, we bought it. I'm driving the Macan GTS and my wife started driving our Audi S4 this summer. The lease is now up on the Audi S4 and bought a 2019 CPO A Spec V6 AWD. My wife likes prefers spirited cars (she used to drive an e30 M3 and a Volvo V70R), she didn't want another SUV and ultimately decided she wanted to get back to a "sport" sedan. She didn't want another BMW or MB and the TLX seemed to fit nicely between the A4 and S4 in the Audi line with Honda reliability. The price was right and the CPO warranty is always a bonus and coming out of an RDX, the controls were very familiar. I order the idlestopper kit and will install that as soon as it comes in. We seem to leave the car in sport mode and I was disappointed that Sport mode didn't automatically cancel out the auto off circuit, but the idlestopper looks to be an easy install. The car is pearl white so the black trunk spoiler really sticks out so I may have that painted white to blend in - let's see if it grows on us. Other than that, the TLX is a nice car except I do miss the ZF 8 speed in the Audi. So far we are extremely happy.

Congrats on the car, I had the same model but 18. Over 3 years on it and no issues. Car was rock solid reliability wise. Got used to just turning off the idle stop after a few months. The transmission lag is still there a bit on the 18-20 models (I also had a 17 TLX which was worse).Something you notice the more you drive it as it crops up periodically. The more "spirited" the driver the more it would be noticed. I found the vcm muzzler works very well to eliminate almost all of that. Frankly I would consider that before doing anything with the idle stop since its a two minute no tools needed install. Anyway, I drove mine for around a year before I added that on and given that amount of time I drove without one it was easy to see how different the car was with it. Have fun with the "new" car.

I removed the muzzler off mine when I traded it in. Will ebay it or sell on here eventually. Never needed to take if out for service. Went undetected. Overall the car was a very good daily driver.
