I saw a TLX in San Francisco
Ok I was on my way home leaving San Francisco on 101 heading towards the Bay Bridge when on my left heading in the opposite direction on the freeway Acura's new jewel eye lights caught my eye and at first i thought it was the RLX but when i saw the back of the car it wasn't. It was the TLX!!! It was a black TLX and from the few seconds i saw the car i must say it looks alot better in person.

Thanks! Did it look pretty "premier" and "upscale" in person? Did it stand out?

Seriously, which trim did you see? Was it in the showroom or just outside? I cannot believe that they have one at the dealership already!!!
Now, please go back to the dealership and take some photos for us... LOL!

I understand that Acura didn't design the TLX for the enthusiasts....so I have to accept a bland design I guess

...and after 3 years, I can't seem to get enough of my 4G TL. I think the TLX will be a hard sell for people who loved their 4G TL as this TLX will feel so tame.

Seriously, I am considering paying off my TL now, when the lease extension is over this summer..... just so that I can keep it!

I feel the same way about my '09 TL Tech SH-AWD w/ HPTs. I test drove the '14 IS 350 F-SPORT and the '15 Volvo S60 R-Design and I still love driving home in my TL. The others are fine cars but don't provide enough "it factor" for me to make that change. Now I did drive the new CTS and it is nice but the CUE system makes me nervous along with litney of GM recalls. I have 2 years before I pay it off so for me to make the plunge on a new purchase it has be on something that blows my TL away.....up to this point, it has not happened yet.

2010 TL AWD 6MT: New King
Every time I test drive a vehicle these days, it turns out to be quite an anti-climax because for the most part, I have not found another vehicle that has given me that "gotta have it" thing, and I also start to miss my 2012 TL SH-AWD Elite.... I always feel so happy when I get back into my TL after the test drive :-)

Having said that, the only cars that have truly taken my breath away and has that wow factor is the Porsche 911 and Macan, esp the Macan.
The Macan has impressed me so much I may be targeting the Macan as my next possible vehicle.

The 4G TL has good value and performance in a mid-size/border line large sedan, esp the 6MT version. Its polarizing design may distract some buyers but today it still looks fresh and aggressive; and Acura's mistake of designing the 4G so its interior is so large it makes a value buy compared to the A6/5 series and renders the RL useless.

Docboy , I'm 100% with you on this. Actually yesterday I had a day off and I checked out few options S4/335/535/A6 and Macan. While Audi and Bmw didn't excite me too much the Macan impressed me a lot. I remember to get same excitement when I first test drive my 4G almost 5 years ago and I said "that's my next car". I know is not same bulk game but if it is to spend about 65K I rather get Macan instead of the others. I'll still want to test drive the TLX before making any decision and I hope for god sake of my bank account that TLX driving will be at least as good as 4G. TLX ,style wise I don't get same level of excitement as my 4G.
At this point in time if TLX wouldn't "wow" me , the Macan will be my next car.

I've driven the S4/335/535 as well, and they didn't really generate enough "wow" factor to buy after having owned the TL 6MT. I've ridden in my friend's A6, nice car, but not nice enough for me to spend $60k+.
The Macan totally took me my surprise. I wrote my impressions of the Macan compared to the RDX over in Cartalk, but to summarize it's like driving a slightly raised 911 but with better utility, rear seats, and visibility. A total homerun and knockout, with a wait list just to take a test drive to boot.
I'm along your thoughts Momyc; I too will wait for the TLX (V6 AWD). If the TLX doesn't excite me visually (which currently it does not) and during the test drive, I'll be leaving Acura and the Porsche Macan will likely be my next car.
