Build and Delivery Time
Build and Delivery Time
Hey everyone.
I made the jump and ordered a i4 TLX! On top of being really excited, I'm also being impatient but perhaps you can help...
How long did it take for you to get your car delivered from order date?
I ordered 9/1 and was told that my car had an estimated build date between 9/29 and 10/3. What are delivery times to your area?
Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Stew4HD, I'm in the same position as you are. We both ordered in July (although dealer said he couldn't place my order until August) and are still waiting. Mine is a AWD Advance GLM/Ebony, and it was supposed to be built 2 weeks ago, however that was pushed to this week. My salesman just called me and he told me my car has a reference number, which indicates to him that the VIN should be following shortly.
I compared what Cars.com showed for the AWD Advance and I did a search on Acura.com (used different zip codes) in Indiana, Ohio, lower Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky and St. Louis area and found there were probably dozens of the AWD Advance cars that weren't showing on Cars.com (although sadly not combination), so if you're really interesting in knowing if there are really others available, you might want to do an Acura search.

It seems that cars are issued by "Zone" and no SH-AWD Advance models are in my Zone. 2 Black ones are due by the end of the month. Mine is the only white one on order in this Zone and has no date yet.
I don't think Acura is geared for individual orders. Brands that are let you track the car through the whole process with an 800 number or the internet from a few days after to make the deal.
The 'zone' statement Stew4HD's dealer remarked on is the same thing that mine told me. Distance from the Buckeye State affects distribution times. Fortunately, my local Acura dealer had a couple of V6 Advance's in a color combination I was amicable towards.
I guess I could have flown home to Ohio, and driven one back, if I had SH-AWD fever

Not that it will do any good, I sent Acura Customer Relations (ACR at AHM.ACURA.COM) an email to give them a piece of my mind about Zone allocations.
I asked them, "why Does Baton Rouge, 120 miles or so away, have SH-AWD Advance models but we don't?" Also, why would it take until the end of November to send those cars to my Zone?
This has me on a bit the fence of buying this car or not. I let ACR know this as well...
...not that it will do any good writing to them but I felt a little better venting! I fully expect a "We're sorry for any inconvenience this may have cause you.. blah, blah, blah.." response

I was told my car might not be here until the END of November.
