Aspec Ventilated seats
Aspec Ventilated seats
Hey Everyone, how are you guys finding the ventilated seats working? I can hardly feel it on the driver side and i wanted to know if anyone else experienced this.
yup, so i guess it won't work that great all the time unless you move around a lot in your seat and allow it to pull cool air around you. I don't remember but did the 4G TL work this way as well? I found those cooled seats a bit better.
I hardly feel them on my MDX or on my new 18 TLX. They suck up ambient air from what I've seen the bottom of the seat so you need to ventilate the toes so that cold air can get sucked up. I haven't tried yet but will do so next time. I've been in my friend's Lexus and was hella impressed with how cool the seat got and how very well the ventilation worked. If I recall he did have the AC pumping good so I'll have to replicate that this summer, but definitely feels better than on an Acura. I even told the sales guy I could barely feel it when we test drove it.

We have ventilated seats that pull what ever air is below the seat. They do work and I can feel it once the cabin is cooled off. Cooled seats send the air from the air conditioner through the seats and that system is felt immediately and is way more noticeable.
Would have definitely preferred cooled seats but ventilated seats are new to me and I like it!

This.
If left in auto mode, the A/C isn't always directed to the floor, and you are then just getting ambient air pushed through the seats which is hard to feel. If needed manually direct, or split the airflow to the floor, and you will definitely feel the cold air coming through the seats.
Most cars in the price bracket, and even much higher have ventilated seats. People incorrectly use the terms interchangeably (the fault of the manufacturers), but ventilated seats don't have an actual cooling mechanism in the seats, but others may have their climate control set to the floor level when the seats are activated, and the TLX wasn't set that way, and it should have been.

Not only directing AC air to the floor helps, but if you are wearing thick jeans you won't feel it as much. On my 15 TLX I do feel a slighting cooling effect, especially when it is really hot and I'm wearing shorts or thinner pants. But nothing like cars with active cooling. Those seats are not recommended if you are trying to have kids... lol!
