Hey guys. New here so hopefully this hasn’t been asked a hundred times. I was wondering if the front and rear bumpers of an aspec bolt right onto a base model tlx of the same year (2018). I know you would have to do some exhaust work in the rear but are the bumpers interchangeable?

 

Had any luck with this ? I’m also looking to swap bumpers

y'all need to stop being scary and be the pioneer. buy the parts and put it on
2015 - 2020 TLXs have the same dimensions...all bumpers will be interchangeable.
be mindful of things like exhaust, as the first poster pointed out

They are literally the same platform I was able to do my rear bumper conversion from 2015 ---> 2018 V6 bumper easy and did a muffler delete to fit exhaust cut outs. Really simple and for right now, gives my TLX a unique look, however im working on another conversion project that will make me the 3rd known person to pull off such a conversion, also looking at adding OEM carplay to my 2016 TLX too.

 

Also check your local dealer website and see if they're running specials for parts and do it that way so you can do local pickup cause buying a bumper and paying for freight shipping is very very pricey. Thats what I did when I did my rear bumper conversion.

 

Careful with your advice.
The rear bumper should be a direct replacement with some minor exhaust modifications for an A-spec swap on any TLX model. However the refresh (2018+) has a completely different front end with different fenders, hood, headlights, grille, and bumper. The front bumper won’t be a straight swap between a 2015-2017 and 2018-2020.

 

my advice was "you're going to spend lots of money to change out the front end"
