Anyone else notice this about the tech packages?
This may seem very insignificant to most people ....
Power folding side mirrors
Remote engine start
To my knowledge remote start has never been included as part of a package on a basic tech package.
but the big kicker for me is folding side mirrors.... since when has Acura offered this as a feature on any car? Acura finally realizing people want to be able to fold in side mirrors automatically and not by hand

This is just for Canada.
EDIT: and not unprecedented, either. The Canadian MDX has power folding mirrors, we don't have them. The Canadian Odyssey also has power folding mirrors. You can guess whether or not we have them here.

May be I am cynical but I think that Canadian models tend to be better equipped to try to justify the historically much higher sticker price that we have the "privilege" to pay for....!
Ironically, we do get fewer options, in terms of colour combinations etc. For instance, we cannot get the Eucalyptus leather in the MDX here. Also, we cannot get the Espresso leather option with the Black Copper TLX here.
That said, I really am liking the fact that several manufacturers have a much narrower price gap now between the US and Canadian models. The Infiniti Q50 is a good example. Then the RLX. Now the TLX. It's very good news for Canadian consumers.
Mind you, we still have a HUGE price gap between the US and Canadian MDX - I have no possible explanation for that, except that the MDX is such a huge seller up here that the Canadian Acura people feel that they can charge whatever they want, i.e. price gouging! This is particularly obvious when you consider that there is now a very reasonable price difference between the US and Canadian RLX and TLX. Yet, when you look at the MDX, it is a huge difference....

^ This.
I like the setting that automatically folds them every time you park and lock the car. Even in fairly wide parking spaces (if there are such things) people walking between the cars can bump your mirrors - or worse.

Agree. I'd bet the US has more fat bastards per capita than any other country on earth. I lost a driver side mirror to one in the commuter train lot.

6G TLX-S
Canadian MDX also has the "Surround View Backup Cameras" feature, but only on the most expensive, top-of-the-line trim level.
But all these extra features also come with a price, since Canadian-spec MDX's carry a much higher MSRP than the equivalently-equipped US-spec MDX's.

Just because it has the same name as it's southerly sibling, doesn't mean it's positioned as the same car, either. For starters, there is no FWD MDX, as far as Canada is concerned, and with the lack of any AWD RLX in a northerly country, the RLX is clearly not suited for flagship duty.
