Acura teases TLX picture on Facebook?
No Problem Weather. Thanks for "Thanking" me lol. I do hope this is in some way shape or form the next direction (Grille wise) for the tlx. I love my 4g, but every once in a while i catch myself staring at a 3g Type S. That car really is sexy.
^^ The picture seems inconclusive to me...it has some styling cues from the RLX and the grill does look different. This could be a light trick...who knows. The fact that TLX is going to take cues from the RLX maybe explains why I see some of the RLX in the pic above. Its really hard to tell....all I know is that Acura is notorious at keeping things hush hush...I find it hard to believe they could be giving us a "juicy nugget" here....I believe in Santa but not in miracles *lol*

mondster...you bring a good point about the two layers of the jewel eyes. Makes you wonder why they would try and create a "teaser" image impression of a car that's already been released unless this is old?
I think Acura accomplished exactly what they wanted with that picture! They got you talking about it
Good move!
PS. For a moment I thought it was the new Integra... oh well, I can dream, can I? LOL.

Looks like an RLX to me. But then why disguise the RLX so much? The damn thing is already out. lol. *shrug*
Here's the front end of the TLX (supposedly), heavily disguised, for comparison :

I don't know, look at the light elements on the "teaser", there are eight elements. The RLX has ten elements. It doesn't look like the tenth elements will fit in the same space which is smaller on the "teaser" pic.
Looking at the rlx pic posted it does have 10 but the inner ones look different. Maybe they dont light up like the rest? Or maybe its the high beam. Silver trim on the headlight is also not fully shown and given the space between the light trim and grille there is space for the 2 missing elements. Its just not lit

The 5th set of light pairs can fit, but you have to imagine the headlights continuing toward the grille instead of stopping abruptly like the picture makes them out to do. As a matter of fact, you can see those lights faintly. Those lights are the high beams, if I recall correctly.
There are ten elements in both teaser and RLX headlights.
This is the new RLX sport hybrid.
My guess is they blacked out some of the chrome for this trim model. Since we all do that here (plastidip) maybe they thought it would be more "sporty".

Like weather said...let's put this to rest....and we'll wait to see the real thing at the Detroit Auto Show. As for the "so called TLX" pic. Just look at the shape of the hood and fenders. Dead ringer for the RLX. Everyone is focused on the lights and grill. It's the RLX. The covered "mules" tell nothing much at all. Be patient everyone. I'm anxious too...my '13 TSX Spec. Ed. might be getting a new home IF the TLX is cool.
By the way....the GM of my Acura dealership said that the 2 engines will be....a 4 cyl and a V6. Didn't say if the 4 will be with turbo...but, my guess...yes, since Acura does like performance and the TLX won't be the weight of an old VW beetle!
But, we can all keep guessing and speculating and imagining....but, just like before the RDX came out...there was so much speculation and guessing....and most were wrong. Jan. 16th(?) will be here soon.

A bit off track again and another example of my "old fogey-ness" but what is it with this trend with bunches of lights for simple headlights? When I first saw a picture of the RLX concept and the big attention getting focus was on the headlight configuration, my initial reaction was "well, we ran out of ideas so we will dazzle you with how many stupid little lights we can fit into the headlight area". To me it looks a bit "Buck Rogers" (to those of you too young--google it) and faddy. So will the next model RLX have 12 lights and then the one after that 16?
Just sayin'

The next technology is Laser headlights coming from BMW.
Why not take those dang nabbit disk brakes off your TL, drums is all you need, none of that Buck Rogers disks brakes. Disks are for kids with those newfangled wireless telephones and high speed internet! They'll have to pry that 56K modem out of your dead hands.

Can't fight progress Doug. Personally I think they are an improvement and will show up in more and more cars.
I'm not against "meaningful" progress but at some point there is diminishing returns which then tells me the "progress" is just for whiz-bang effect. Funny thing is that when googling to find out about this burgeoning new-and-improved headlights trend I stumbled on a UK website that was fighting against the trend (www.lightmare.org) with arguments that too much brightness is actually a safety issue for various reasons.
Now excuse me while I get back to serious business on my TRS-80.
