I've driven Korean.
I think a car is more than just a mode of transportation for me...so perception and brand allegiance and feeling about it come into play.
Most new cars have all the features...I also don't love the feeling of being in a rolling computer now. I like the older more simple cars.

Kia Stinger pricing revealed, 49995 fully loaded in Canada (53K in US). This will for sure hurt the loaded Aspec in Canada, cheaper and you get much more. Will really hurt the RLX since better materials, tech, and looks. Accord will hurt the 2.4 TLX. Basically TLX sales will be affected from now on.

I find a Touarge is a lot more premium than a MDX and better looking than a RX350 (this is my opinion). But yet again, why VW is struggling to increase sales. The same exact assumption was made when Sante Fe, Tuscon, Elantra came...people started saying CR-V, Rav 4, Corolla and Civic sales will suffer...did it suffer?
Brand is brand...people pay more to get the little logo buddy! You might not be one of them but believe me many of us are...It's sad but it's the truth! If not, most of clothing and designer companies would shut down by now.

Local lease ads are 0 drive off, $370 a month, before any negotiations. Most ones at the local dealers are 30-38K depending on options.

Just need to figure out the AC not working to decide if I'll keep it to alleviate the Wagon mpg a few days a week, or sell it off
totally paid more for that vadge though...

Well the Atlas is a great strategy. People of a certain race around here, think of VW as stepping up to premium build quality semi luxury. They have been buying GTI/Toureg for years.
After diesel gate, VW bombed.
So they come out with a vehicle that is priced cheaper than Sienna/Odyssey and give people the "vw premium" badge.
Thus they are selling them in droves. These people will keep the car 3-4 years only. At 29-30K- which is Accord money, you are getting 8 passengers, no minivan look, and "supposed premium brand"
Its the perfect vehicle for badge whore moms who didn't swallow the right jizz to roll a RR/Q7...but are too embarrassed to be seen in an Explorer

I see next to my parents home a Nissan Armada. I swear it's like twin sister of Infiniti QX80. But the price difference is huge and people still buy Infiniti QX80 more than Armada (CDN Market, I am not sure about the US). Also, people compare QX80 to Escalade and Range Rover. It's considered very premium SUV. So badge matters...we all know that! Therefore, Kia won't bankrupt Japanese premium brands

for the same reason I won't buy US Polo Association over Ralph Lauren.
Just can't do it...even if the quality is similar.
Brand name whore!??!
for some things...
Harbor freight for impact sockets but Snap On for ratchets.
I don't know why but I can't Hyundai or Kia. Honda, Nissan, Toyota and Subaru for imports.

Now if it had Genesis on it, I think it would be more acceptable. My friends don't even know what Genesis is...KIA they know.

Should be very interesting. Most Hyundai/Kia models seem to drop off in value quite a bit in short order. However, those Genesis coupes seem to hold values better than the other models in the brand. Maybe it’ll be likewise for the Stinger.
if so, this’ll work towards building up the brand. $.02
