ACC and Brake Lights
ACC and Brake Lights
When ACC is activated and brakes the car are the brake lights activated? Same question for CMBS. I previously had a 2011 G37XS and there was an issue in this regard and I never did sort out what the answer was.
Well, I have no way of knowing for sure (as of this time), but I have to assume that the brake lights work because ACC will come to a complete stop and as of now I haven't been rear-ended yet. I was curious as well, but I'm sure that when ACC is enabled, the brake lights will have to light as the car works to slow itself down. I guess the best way to find out is to have a "chase" vehicle follow as you have it on.
I'm curious too, so if anyone knows for sure or has a video, it would be nice to know for sure.

I have never seen the piston move in the car but am sure that they do. Likewise I have not been able to see the brake lights but am absolutely sure that they come on when there is braking by ACC or CMBS.
The one area in doubt for me is when ACC uses actual braking vs engine braking. I know that engine braking will not turn on the brake lights, but I cannot tell the difference for sure.
