I see they also got rid of all the plastic engine compartment cover panels.

Anyway..... 65 liters is 17.2 US Gallons. At least they didn't skimp there.

Is it also during late summer that automobile journalists will be able to test drive the production models?
Someone just stole the video from acura.com and entitled it incorrectly:

So the Advance TLX likely will have all the features of the RLX other than its size and hybrid drivetrain, it appears. That's the gist of what I got out of the feature differentiation portion of the video above.
Again, considering options.
I, too, noticed the lack of applause at the intro. At the end of the day, the sales numbers will tell the tale of woe or success. We'll find out in the fall!

Re. Applause. Only in the 'post-Apple keynote' do we expect impartial journalists to clap, whoop and holler. IMO, Acura either needs to stack the deck with people who will make noise, or time the presentation without it. Nothing worse than leaving space for applause and not getting it.

My point, though, was applause at the intro doesn't matter as much as the sales numbers will. I personally think the the TLX is a step forward from the polarizing looks of the 4G TL and will sell like hotcakes in comparison....including, potentially, to me.

man that TLX just reinforces my thought of buying a RDX.....at least it comes standard with a nice FAT V6

No arguments there! All is forgiven if it sells well.

I like the rear tailight styling though it's not very much different from a Lexus ES or an Audi A6, which should be an overall good thing.

I liked the 3G's and 1st gen TSX front fascia and there's strong semblance to these on the TLX.
I like the rear tailight styling of the TLX (better than that of the 3G for sure) though it's not very much different from a Lexus ES or an Audi A6, which should be an overall good thing.
Interior is not as fancy as a Lexus IS Sport Package but hey, that's why I'm on Acurazine and DriveAccord instead of some Lexus forums.

Nice car but not very impressed, so far. I don't see anything in this TLX that will make me want to part with my 2012 SH.
I hope the "sports +" button re-tunes the ECU and turns this TLX in to a fire breathing, tire smoking pussy cat. Wishful thinking.

I have no doubt it will meet the sales goal. It should considering its taking up the space of 2 cars. It should however be able to sell much more than they are setting a goal for. Settling for anything less is a failure

The hype is already dead on this thing. Before the prototype reveal the car rags were running an article about the upcoming tlx every week. Acura needs to get numbers out fast if they want pre-orders rolling in. I, like many others, are pissed about the advertised HP/TQ, but I'll reserve final judgment until performance figures are released

Well, the sales number for the TLX have to be great than the former TSX and TL sales (combined) otherwise it will be a flop! If they compare the sales of the TLX to that of the TL and say...."Look, we sold 1800 TL last month and we sold 2700 TLX this month so it must be a success".....that will be lame!

That being said, the ILX isn't doing the TLX any favors.

I'm curious as to why you and others are upset about the published hp/torque numbers. It will be a significantly lighter car than the 4G TL, and they've already said the 4 cylinder TLX is quite a bit faster to 60 than the 4 cylinder TSX. That all sounds good to me.

Doesn't matter if its lighter or faster, the numbers look like a downgrade to current SH-AWD owners, and anyone looking at this class of vehicle is seeing powertrains advertised over 300hp. Here we have Acura, who thinks they know better...We're going from 3.7L 305hp to 3.5L under 300hp. That's unsettling to me. Just wait and see what happens if BMW, Audi, or Merc decide to do that....

I spend 2 much time here
it doesn't make much sense does it, if acura really wants to steal away people looking at BMW, MB and Audi they should make sure to at least go toe to toe with power figures.

The ILX isnt doing itself any favors either.

Once Again, its as though they think they can change the category and get the others to drop their numbers

Well, that's interesting. Haven't seen that question before. All of the other TPS wheels have been 120, so I'm guessing these are as well.
He's beginning to advance a little beyond his expectations, and I think he might have even expected to get the axe when the 4G TL sales figures turned out to be so awful.
But...the 4G TL was a great car and it wasn't his fault that it came out at the wrong time, on the heels of the American depression and mortgage disaster of 2008-2009.
I believe he was surprised that his management recognized that he'd done an excellent job and produced a very good car even if the sales were low.
It's an IB forum. That's what goes on. A little less thoughtful discussion and a little more expressiveness from people who probably wouldn't have bought it in the first place.
Well. What can you do.

Just because many dont express or feel the same as you do about the current lineup doesnt mean they are or have a less thoughtful discussion, And this being an IB forum has nothing to do with it.

Indeed. And after "regular" customers get a car as fast as they feel they need, they turn their attention to other things like fuel economy, tech goodies, etc.

It was unheard of years ago for luxury cars to have 4 cylinder engines. For that matter, it was unheard of years ago for large cars to have V6 engines instead of V8s...until they did.
Just presenting opinions as facts doesn't make them facts.

LOL are you guys even reading what you wrote??? Stop trying to defend Acura's asinine decision to lower the HP. Sure there are 4 bangers in luxury cars now, BUT, and I mean a HUGE BUT, those cars also come with....wait for it.....BIG EFFING MOTOR CHOICES.
You want a 5 series? NO PROBLEM! You can have it with a 4, 6, or 8 cylinders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The point is Acura is pissing on the enthusiast with these figures.

Can we see the actual statistics that led you to this conclusion?

The chase for ever more HP has to end somewhere. Otherwise we'll be driving 500HP Civic's someday. There is a practical limit, especially in a front drive platform. It kind of reminds me of the obsession with ever larger SUVs. That hit a wall pretty quickly. Now the market is chasing the 'CUV' and manufacturers are responding. Very few people buy a car by the numbers on the spec sheet. Once they realize that 0-60 in 7 seconds or less is all they need they won't care what the spec sheet says. Only a few that want to compare 'how big theirs is' to the other guys will care that much. I predict half or more of all TLX sales will be the I4.

012TL-GLM: I hear you...it is unfortunate that a company as Acura doesn't offer bigger engines for those who want it but I think that the FWD plateform also limits the need to go too big. Its amazing that Hyundai can have a RWD plateform and a V8 available but I guess Hyundai does more than build cars and maybe more capital for R&D?
