Wheels

Hey guys Im looking to lower my car and wanting to put 20" rims on it. I want my car to look like the pics below and need helping on deciding rim size and the offset.

In the front I'm looking to have 20x9 or 20x9.5 and in the rear I want 20x10 or 20x10.5. Which wheel size will allow me to go as low as possible with the fenders rolled. Also I'm still new to offset and wondering what are the cars running in the pics below.

With your fenders rolled you can go just as low on either size you posted.

Bottom TL looks to have a higher offset while the top TL would need a lower offset to have lips like that. Id assume around 20 or less for the top shot and 35 or more offset for the bottom one.

Thanks for helping me. So I could do 20x9 in the front and 20x10 in the rear. If I roll my fenders I could sit lower. The look I want is I want a maybe about an inch of the tire showing from the fender to the rim. Also what does offset do?

To explain it quickly... offset is where the wheel face sits in ratio to the front and rear lips.

In the above pic the axel/car would be on the left. Most wheels are positive offset.

Here are some real life pics for you on the popular BBS LM wheel.

^positive offset. I believe 35. This positive offset will give the smallest lip possible but allow for large brakes to fit behind the spokes. Lip size is about 1inch.

^near zero offset will allow for lips twice as large but you also now have less space behind the wheel.

^and finally negative offset will give super deep dishes but very little spacing behind the wheel.

Thank you for explaining it very well and providing pictures with it. so with 20x9 in the front and 20x10 in the rear. Should I get positive or 0 offset? Im gonna have concave rims so the 0 offset it will be more concave? Was looking at Vossen rims and there all concave. Also was looking at Work Wheels Zeast ST1 and TSW rims (not sure which model yet). But with the work wheels there concave and the TSW are not concave so maybe for those ones 0 offset for more lip?

Yes, 0 offset would create a more concave look for a wheel that is concave with smaller lips.

The question on WHAT offset to get is something you will need to ask the TL 4G specific crowd. I would look in our 4G section for different builds and see what wheel size you like and ask them exactly what they have.

I can help out a bit more as I have found the TL you posted with the deeper lips.

That set up may be a bit aggressive for what youd want to daily.

As the article says

The set of 20×10.5″ Work Varianza A6S’s, framed by the lowered sculpted fenders, give this car a VIP-esque presence, though the growl of the ATLP exhaust ensure on-lookers that this car is much more than a show queen.
So those are 20x10.5 Sadly offset isnt listed.

Well the look im really trying to go for is in the picture below. Looking to go for the black TL look. I like hows there about 1" gap between the fender and the rim. So you can see the about 1" of the tire. Do you know what offset that is for the black and white TL?
