TPMS sensor part compatibility

Hey, everyone!

I'm getting winter tires/rims for my 2012 TL Sh-AWD and I keep finding from different sites and different dealers different part numbers for the TPMS sensor. What is the original part number??

If there are multiple would these work? 42753-5tk-a04

Also, I think this questions has been answered previously but just to clarify, if I bought OEM sensors for my winter set, I wouldn't need any dealer programming when I switch over to my summer set correct? Just drive for a little while and they should sync up automatically each time I change over rims/tires?

I also started a thread similar to this as well and I've been given on and off responses in terms of TPMS. From people's posts, cheaper or TPMS's that aren't OEM or "blank" need to be programmed however TPMS's from let's say TireRack will work properly after driving a few miles and they seem to have the cheapest price.

I just picked up my winter set from discountire.com with tpms and it was pretty straight forward. Just drove on them for a little bit and the car learned them.

^^^^^

Why is there such a hefty difference in prices : $33.97 vs $106.03 ?

Thanks for the info @Ron A much appreciated!

As a followup I called the 6 dealers located near myself and they all confirmed this is a suitable replacement part for the 42753-TK4-A01 and said 42753-TY2-A51 will work perfectly fine. One dealer mentioned if I ordered the TK4 sensors and they happen to be out of stock, Honda will send out the TY2 sensor instead as they can be used in the TL.

As I'm now confident enough they'll work, I will be installing them within the next couple of weeks depending on my schedule and I'll post first hand confirmation if they worked or not.

Good info, and they are coincidentally the same price.

When you confirm it I'll cross reference it for both TPMS.

Same here. Just installed 4 snows with rims and 315MHZ TPMs from tirerack and after about a mile the tire pressures automatically came up.
