Summer Tire recommendations...
My existing tires are totally shot... i'm going to order new ones within a month.
I have the OEM 19" wheels. I'm leaning toward Michelin PSS...as I used to run PS2s on a prior car and they were hands down the best tire i ever had...and the PSS is basically the "new" version of those..
I do NOT want an all season. I live in So cal and my car NEVER sees snow. occasional rain and that's it. I like to drive hard in the twisties and I want something with massive grip, not much noise, and decent comfort.
I had a friend recommedn Hankook Ventus V12s..and while they are cheaper they aren't crazy cheaper. tirerack has the PSS for like $236/tire and the Ventus for about $200/tire.
i'm curious what you all think, have tried, and recommend.
I don't plan on tracking my car.. it is a DD but I want someting performance oriented.
the PSS has a decent treadwear rating given how high performance it is.
anyone running those on their TL?
thanks.

lol at your friend recommending an all season tire...which the hankook v12 is.
if you want a summer from Hankook, look at their RS-3 tire.
I was riding around on Dunlop direzza star spec z1 but they dont make that tire any more.
and supposedly, the Hankook RS3 is BETTER than the Direzza Z1 star specs.
also, my first venture into summer tires; I used Nitto NT05's! great fucking tire!!!!!!!

I run the Bridgestone Potenza RE050 series tires in the summer, and I am very impressed with them, but I have been in a buddies car who runs the PS2s, and I think I was more impressed with the PS2s (now the car was an STI, so it may have been the car/suspension). I think that if you could pick up either, I would go with what ever the better deal was between the PS2s and the Potenza. I don't have any experience with any Hankook tires.

Continental DW (ranked 4 vs PSS) $117 (special) (had these on my 760 and loved them)
Michelin Supersports (ranked 1 in Max Performance Summer) $142 (special)
Dunlop Direzza ZII Star Spec: $166 each on tirerack.
Discount tire will price match tirerack and their road hazard plans are worth it. Plus you get lifetime free balancing and rotation.
