I have searched and searched, but where can I see pics of the two different color wheels on the 09-11 SH 18"... I know one is called hyper silver, what is the other called, and where can I see pics of the two. I have searched and searched with no results.. I really appreciate it. This one I posted it hyper silver, where is the other one and what is it called?

 

I have been wondering the same thing. It looks like there are 2 colors in pictures I have seen but am wondering if they do not just look different on different color cars or in different light. Mine do not look like a bright silver. They look almost like gun metal but a little lighter. I think they look awesome on my CBP car. Was looking for a spare but do not know what color to get.

i cant find a different part number for the wheels, its the same part number for the sh awd 18" wheels from 09-11, but i can tell you for certain, that a guy at work has the tl tech with 18" wheels, and my sh awd wheels are darker then his...

 

The official part number for those light color 18" 5 spoke wheels is 42700-TK5-A01.

The darker color is 42700-TK5-A02, many dealers will tell you that its just a part number change but they are wrong.

I went to my local Acura parts @ Paragon and they have 1 wheel in the light color. They guy showed me the part number and it was different from the "Current" one.

If you want those wheels insist on getting the 42700-TK5-A01.

 

^^^ Exactly right. Looks like the early TL's had the silver finish rims and than later part of 2010 they came out with the darker gunmetal looking rim. I like the silver finish better myself.

 

i've had both wheels (09 TL & 10 TL) and its extremely noticeable

i like the darker MUCH better... on every single color it looks 10x better... just my opinion though

Yes there is a difference. Mr.Skytech is correct. I have a 2010 Type SH and mine are the darker gunmetal.

 

ahhh its been so long since i've done a photoshoot on one of my TLs... been so damn busy

I am glad I saw this post first. 2010 TL and I hit a pot hole and cracked a rim. Took it to the dealer to replace. When I went to pick it up the front rim was a different color. Its very slight but noticable when you looked at the front wheel then the back wheel. It came with the silver the new one is more grey. I took a picture in the garage but its dark and you cant see it from the pic. They are ordering a new one but I think they are just going to get the dark one again. I tried to tell them to order an A01 but they wont listen.
