Anyone machine a wheel to increase the offset?
Anyone machine a wheel to increase the offset?
I have a '13 AWD TL Advance with a body kit. I have been looking for wheels ever since I got my car. I found a set of Advan RS on ebay tonight. Specs are 19x9 +22 and 19x10 +20. The offsets seem too low and I am guessing they will stick out and rub. Has anyone ever had a machine shop increase the offset on a set of wheels? Will that affect the structure of the wheel?
actually; pretty good specs!
usually; people pick weaker specs than what the car calls for.
you did good by looking at something more aggressive than stock.
I believe it will fit without "machining the wheel"

no.. you do not ever "shave" anything of a wheel like that.. especially advan..
if you want customization.. go get 3 piece wheels..
you will compromise the structural integrity of the wheel, shaving down the hub will decrease the reliability of the wheel..

If I go with a 255 40 19 tire and no drop, will I rub? I don't like stretching the tires so a 255 should fit both the 9" and 10" rim. And its only 1.7% off of stock. I also don't plan on lowering the car. Pennsylvania roads are horrible!!!
Thanks for the advice! I figured as much but wanted to know if anyone had tried it.
