Window Belt Molding replacement
Window Belt Molding replacement
I am getting ready to replace the window belt bolding on my 2009 TL AWD. I have searched the site and internet without success. I would appreciate any tips or diy info that anyone who has done this could provide. Thank You.

The door Belt Moldings (4) are the horizontal window molding about waist height, hence the name Belt molding.
This molding is not service able because parts are not available except for the retainer clips. Just replace as a whole unit.
Front one is held on by the mirror, clips, and a screw at the rear. Clips are included with the new molding.
Front Door
To remove the molding you need to remove the door panel, mirror, and a screw at the rear in the door jam. Row the window all the way down. Grasp the molding firmly if possible and pull up to break the molding free from the car. The molding clips may or may not break but you need to over power the clips in order to free the molding.
Rear door
Same as the front door but 2 screws on the ends instead of 1 screw and minus the mirror.
To install the molding simply line up the clips with the slots in the door and push down until it snaps in, fasten the ends with screw(s), and mirror (front door).
