Whistling sound when accelerating.
2011 Acura tl with 16K miles on it. Everytime I accelerate, there is a whistle sound coming from the engine I believe. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this sound? Thanks
Yeah I went in last month because I thought the tranny had a problem since there were rough shifts and clicking sound whenever I put the car into drive. I still get both ven till this day. The dealer told me that there is nothing wrong with the tranny. Guess they are lying.
Simple test
Get a feel of where the pedal is where it makes the sound and hold it there
Then try it in neutral; if the noise goes away, it's the tranny
if not, you have another issue.
It's very common on the tl and tsx
The dealer was going to replace my tranny but the warranty was up so they said no, but they know of the issue. They won't do much unless you hound them

The whistling has appeared with me briefly but when away within a day. It would only happen when I hit the gas at high speed (50mph +).
Since you're in Jersey I just had Open Road Acura of E. Brunswick take care of the problem on my 2012. Took a few test drives for them to hear the noise but once they did, there were no games about it being normal. Amanda was my service advisor.

I have gone to 3 diff dealers. Starting with bridgewater, Springfield and finally East
Brunswick. Bridgewater made up some lame excuse saying its the transmisson changing gears. Springfield said it was the fuel injectors and east Brunswick said its a normal sound. I test drove it once with the tech from east Brunswick. Amanda was also my advisor. I'll go back to East Brunswick again now that I am getting a vibration feel at low acceleration. Should I get the Acura Rep involved?
