Two years - first problem

Went out to start my car this morning and it would barely turn over, accompanied by the light show of every possible warning light. No warning, no issue last time I drove it Thursday evening.

Put a light charge on the battery for 10 minutes while I called my dealer, and it barely fired up. I took it straight to the dealer (who nicely squeezed me on an overbooked Saturday) for a probable battery replacement.

I know others have had this issue with premature battery death. Are the replacements under warranty any longer lived?

^no. lol

I know you would like a free battery, but I would have just skipped the dealer and went for a diehard battery.

Sorry OP, but getting squeezed into the dealer for a batter replacement is like going into the emergency room for a hair cut.

Kind of a tough call:

Option #1 - you go spend your own $ on a good diehard battery...

Option #2 - you get the free acura battery while your still under warranty - even tho it may only last 2 years......free is free.

Buy the diehard when your out of warranty.

If you have a sound system or even HIDs (to an extent) its probably a better idea to just get a aftermarket battery. I got an Optima battery (yellow top) no more start up problems and it comes with a 5 year warranty.

Thanks. All fixed. (They even preserved my settings).

I'm not buying a new battery for a 2 year old car. I'll just wait until this one takes a dump and them buy a good one. At least that way I've gotten 4 years out of the OEM unit(s).

This is just what I would have done. Let ACURA pay for a new one.

Agree. Get as much warranty replacements from the dealership as possible. We already paid for all of them when we purchased the vehicles.
