Can you guys check something for me?

On my trunk, when it's open and I start to close it, about halfway down (right before I'm about to slam it), there's a sound/slight bit of resistance.

The sound is sort of like a spring and feels like something might be rubbing against or getting in the way of the hinges/bars that the trunk moves along.

It may be normal, which is why I want to check with other owners. Thanks in advance!

Good point! To clarify, it's an Advance. The sound/interference seems to be coming from the curved hinges for sure.

 

I've noticed this once or twice on mine just when shutting it normally... however, it's definitely not consistent.

It is the plastic trim surrounding the swinging arms. Take them off and you will see the sound is gone. If you can get them back on and have them not touch the arms somehow, the sound will go away.
