Touchy Turn Signal Lever

When I press the turn signal lever slightly to make a lane change, it usually ends up engaging fully rather than returning to the off position. It only does this when pressing to the right. The left direction is fine. If I'm extremely gentle I can prevent it from locking, but it's irritating to be this gentle. Considering it's fine the other direction, I can only assume it is not normal. I'm curious if it just needs a cleaning. Anyone else have this issue?

4G TL does not have tap to blink signals so you litterally signal once when you tap the stalk. TLX got the tap to blink 3x signals like BMW's have.

That's not what I meant. The TL is just like any other car I've owned where you can press and hold the lever to signal momentarily then let go. For some reason the lever is more sensitive when pressing to the right such that it is difficult to not engage the lever fully and it ends up locking/fully on. Again, the left motion is fine.

Perhaps the switch has worn and could use replacement.

$27 for a new one:

Wow. Didn't realize the switch was so inexpensive. I'll definitely be getting a new one. Thanks.

airbag needs to come off and so does the steering wheel. Disconnect the battery and it's a few screws. I'd place tape on the wheel and the steering column on top so you can mark exact where the steering wheel was so it's easier to install.

The service manual says nothing about removing the airbag or the wheel. It says to remove the lower dash panel and the steering column cover. Looks pretty simple and straightforward.
