Long time lurker, I used to login via my Google account but it won't let me again.

Anyway, I have 2010 Acura TL Base Auto
When I move the gear from Reverse to Drive, I can hear thump sound/noise from the front.
Is it normal?
I don't think I hear the sound if I shift from Neutral to Drive.

I experience this also. Told my dealership service advisor... without hesitation he assured me this is normal.

 

Is it more like a snap/click/gear being engaged noise? Mine does this as well if shifting into drive quickly after backing up. From what I've been able to find, it is normal. No other signs of a problem with the transmission.
