Everytime I accelerate from stop I get this delay before the speed start to pick up with this car so I am wondering if this normal?

Depending on exactly what you mean, it might be. I've read threads of people feeling "hesitation" during acceleration. Personally I find that stepping on the pedal smoothly instead of suddenly gets a more linear response.

Do you mean it accelerates slowly then suddenly much faster? If so that's just VTEC. Otherwise a 2 sec delay for it to start moving from a stop is not normal. Mine will go almost instantly. It could also be that your car like some I've heard of does not want to do much in first gear, other than shift to second asap which could cause some hesitation. Try mashing the pedal more from a stop but not all at once mash it but ease into it a little. That way it should take off pretty good.
