Csmeance-would not of made it last 5yrs without your intelligence, and up front answers.
Thoiboi- your mechanical aptitude rocks again and again.
2010 SH AWD 5spd/auto: would these fit and what's your opinion KYB-Strut-Plus twin tube complete assembly
They are specified for front wheel drive TL But??? for replacement of my stock front struts with 190,00miles $250 a piece complete I won't have to pay for labor I can do it myself.

Rock Auto has these listed for the part numbers for your car, https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...=15174&jsn=504 digging into it a bit further, the 'strut plus' complete assembly looks to be available for the 3.5 model on rock auto (but unfortunately only the Front Left one on RA). The page does indicate that it is an Excel G Strut built up with a spring. BUT when you look up on Rock Auto for the 3.5L FWD TL, it lists the exact same struts.

My hypothesis is that it will fit just fine, but the spring rates will be different as they were intended for the FWD model of the TL as opposed to the AWD model so it may sit a bit lower.

SH-AWD models have struts and springs that are firmer than the 3.5L TL to be more "sporty." In addition there is a little bit more weight for the suspension to carry thanks to the transfer case, rear diff, rear axles and other SH-AWD parts (around 200lbs easy).

The car might not sit lower but may feel a bit more bouncy/softer than you are used to if you put the FWD shocks/assemblies on your car.

I put SH-AWD struts in my FWD and over certain bridges/roads you can def feel a large difference over the FWD springs/shocks with the firmness.

Monroe also has quickstruts available to swap the whole assembly but they fit the 09-14 TL without specifing AWD or not on rockauto, but on ebay it says 3.7 only... they don't show up under the 3.5L on rockauto only the 3.7L so that might be the ticket for a good ride that matches OEM.

The Factory shocks are $182 by themselves (plus shipping/tax) and you'd have to reuse the old hardware and compress the spring, etc.

FCS brand has the same part no fitting both cars, and I didn't have a great experience with them on my 3G TL, the bump stops started coming apart fairly quickly. Top Notch Brand on rock auto shows it fitting only the SH-AWD models, they appear to be made in the same factory as monroe but I could be wrong, not worth it to save $10 and have to do it again much sooner.
