Surging Idle
I have a 2010 TL and I cleaned the throttle body today with a toothbrush and rags. (It was very black) Now when I start the car the rpms raise to about 2,000 then settle down. Also the rpms surge while driving. Any idea what it could be? BTW throttle body was still attached and car was off

Got the code checked out, it was P2279.
I should mention I did remove the intake manifold to clean everything also.
I went to a shop that specializes in Honda/Acura and the owner told me that it's because i didn't torque down everything correct so I have a air leak somewhere.
I doubt I didn't install the intake manifold correctly.
I went home, unplug battery, removed everything, and installed it again while torqueing down correctly.
Started up the car, held the RPMs at 3000 for like 30 seconds and let go (fans did not kick in yet). I was scared of holding my engine at 3000 RPMs for any longer, even though the instructions say hold it until the fan kicks in. I then let it idle for 5 minutes.
Went on a drive, and everything is MUCH better. Still not the way it was before, but much better. CEL came on, almost a minute after I started up the engine to go on the drive.
I want it back to normal, though, which includes no CEL.
I'm going to visit the shop again tomorrow and see what they think.

The 'fix' is there?
Keep in mind this is for a 3G TL DBW throttle body outlined in the 3G TL FSM.
It, the FSM 'Throttle Position Learning Check' process, depicted below, may or may not be similar to your 4G procedure?
I'm guessing that it is, because I suspect that your delicate DBW TB TPS is 'wacked' out of calibration due to your inadvertent butterfly valve manipulation from TB cleaning.
As you have learned, ETCG said in the video, "Don't move the throttle plate'; furthermore, before that you only see him spraying down the TB when cleaning.
Maybe one of your mates here, on the 4G TL side with a FSM can confirm / deny this process is similar by investigating for you?
The computer driven throttle position sensor may need to be recalibrated to regain a proper idle by either the HDS system or an aftermarket equivalent to return the butterfly valve to normal calibration.
Good Luck!

So the scan tool had the specific throttle position learn check functionality needed to recal. the TB TPS?
It would be a good example to show this capability for Acura DBW cars, I may need one soon.
