I recently purchased a 2010 TL with a deployed steering wheel airbag. After doing some research I determined that the airbag isn’t covered under any of the Takata recalls, but would still cost 1100 to get it replaced by Acura. There’s almost no replacement parts from anywhere else because of the recalls.

My question is basically this:
Has anyone tried to do a steering wheel swap between other models in the same generation? I’ve seen several airbags and wheels for sale of tsx and such, would those work to buy and replace the whole steering wheel and airbag?

From other research I’ve done here in the forums it looks like I’d need to confirm the power output to the airbag to make sure it is compatible but I’m more curious about the possibilities of swapping steering wheels and having buttons continue their functions.
