Squealing noise on startup???
Anyone hear a squealing noise on startup sometimes? It doesnt sound like a belt, but something inside the dash. Also happens when I shut the car off sometimes. Thanks Pat

Yes I think I’ve noticed it too, every time I start the engine. I’m not sure if I’ve noticed it before the winter tho. Anyway I have no idea what it is but was intending to have service check it out the next time the car is due for maintenance. Squealing is a good word, short metallic pinging or screeching sound was the best description I came up with in my head. Though I haven’t heard it when I turn off the engine.

My dealership checked out my car for the same issue, and described it as the belts being cold and slipping a bit until the car warms up. I asked if they fixed it, and they said, "No, its normal".
Now I have the regional service rep looking into it. They also said the door panel creaking was normal as well, even though I went out to a new TL and it was barely audible.

Funny part is that I was picking the car up this afternoon, and checked a 2011 and 2012, and both didn't have the panel creak. The issue is when you push on the area just above the metal piece that is situated above the leather insert. Its coming from the seam between the upper door panel and that metallic trim piece.
