Squeaks/rattles

So far, I've seen no remedy on these boards for my rear deck squeak (sounds like plastic rubbing or "clicking" - radio on or off. Seems more prevalent in the morning when it's cooler. In evening after the car has baked in the work parking lot, it seems to be gone, only to be replaced by steering wheel plastic flexing/creaking when you turn the wheel. Yeah, I may be picking nits - looks like trade-off for mechanical reliability. My '07 335 was as solid as it was new after 3 years and 42,000 miles - no squeaks, just burned oil and coolant.

Hopefully I can get to cooler weather by the time my first oil change rolls around so the dealer can "replicate my problem" and take care of my nits in one trip. I'll have them check out my squeaks along with the rear drive line rumble between 61 and 66 mph.

Draph, I hear your pain!!! How many times have you been to the dealer for these issues? What was their response? If they had a recurrent issue that was not resolved, I understand that they were supposed to contact Acura corporate about that. Obviously the dealers don't want to go that way but when that happens, they will take things more seriously.

I have no real complaints about the manufacturer or dealer service, as I have not been to the dealer with my issues yet. The rear parcel shelf squeak is intermittent, and seems more prevalent on cool mornings. I'm holding out for cooler fall days so I have no doubt the dealer will hear it. I'm annoyed, but not so annoyed I'm willing to accept an additional annoyance of driving a loaner while they try to diagnose a squeak. Rather, I will combine with my first service visit.

Also, I doubt it's speaker related, unless someone confirms the rattle can occur when the sound system is turned off. To me, it sounds like two plastic trim pieces rubbing together - more of a snap or a click - not real high pitched either.

I have similar problems with my front dash as well. There is a snapping/clicking whenever I hit the smallest of road imperfections. It's also prevalent on hot days right after I hop in and turn on the AC. I'm not sure if the dealer is supposed to take care of these things, or its just expected.

Rakesh: Thanks for that TSB, I'm printing that out and bringing it to my dealer for my woofer problems.

I think that if you guys have any creaking/rattling/buzzing, you really should not just accept it - bring it back to the dealership to take a look. You may be surprised by how they can just fix it :-)

i had better luck fixing rattles myself on my 07 type s vrs the dealer...i had the car in many times for rattles, and each time got the car back with the same rattles and them telling me they fixed it...what a waist of time taking my car to the dealer for rattles...

unless you see a tsb to fix it, i wouldnt waist my time taking it in...try to isolate and fix it yourself...

My car's in right now for the fourth time for the same rattle. They do fix it each time but after 2-4 weeks, noise comes back. Seam rubbing as the diagnosis each time in the same area.

I wonder if they call corporate on these hard to fix things. If they don't call, how does corporate trend issues that may turn into something big later on - like a recall.
