Slight burning smell after hard acceleration

So I just got a used 2012 TL (AT) that had 60k KM on it.

I tried doing a few hard accelerations (~5k RPM) and I noticed a slight burning smell. It can also be smelled after leaving the car.

This is my first time driving a car this powerful as the cars I usually drive are small 4-cylinders. Is this normal or should I get it checked out?

Notice any soot in your rear bumper? Maybe it's burning oil. Or you're just flooring it then going hard on the brakes.

No I haven't looked at the bumper. What does burning oil mean?

I'm only going hard on the acceleration on the highway so no hard breaking afterwards.

My guess is that it's probably the tires.

Mine does the same thing, but it is fwd though. I'm not sure if it's normal or not.

Could be the valve cover leaking oil onto the header/exhaust and burning off.

Mine is FWD as well. It may be the tires, I'll have to start paying attention to the various things. But I do notice that I can only smell it when really pushing the car which is something that I don't do often (I just wanted to test the power on the first two days).

brakes can smell funny after a hard run.
also, catalytic converters can smell funny after a hard run.
a lot of things can smell funny at high temps.

if it goes away and only happens on hard runs, its something that heats up then cools off.
and pretty much normal.

if the smell is there all the time, its not normal.
