Shaking at 75 mph and acceleration

I was told by a shop my CV axles are bad and this is the reason for the shaking. They cannot tell me which one is bad so they recommended replacing both... They also do not recommend aftermarket CV axles. Acura wants $450 a piece and one of them is on national backorder with no date available. I have heard Raxles are a good alternative but I also think the price is steep for them as well. I can get Cardone axles for less than $100 a piece, my question is has anyone had issues with any aftermarket axles? I have used plenty of aftermarket axles when I worked in a shop and never had issues on other vehicles. any input would be appreciated.

many people find aftermarket cv joints or axles provide the shakiness/roughness, thus why the recommendation for OEM.

You’ll want OEM here. You’ll just be fixing your shaking with more shaking a few years down the road if you go with aftermarket parts on this repair.

I am also experiencing vibrations/shaking most noticeably when accelerating. I thought it was the new tires I just put on, but I swapped them with another set and the issue is still present. The harder I accelerate the worse it is. The vehicle has 108k miles on it. Is this a typical symptom of bad axles? The boots aren't torn and there are not popping or cracklings sounds. What about worn motor mounts? Hopefully not a failing torque converter.

OP
Since you didn't tell us what year or trans type you have this may or may pertain to you.
There is a thread in this forum that explains that the splines on aftermarket axles do not physically fit into the trans for 2012 and above TL.
(You'll have to search for the thread).
I don't know if aftermarket has fixed this issue.

BTW: Last weekend I installed a Cardone "new" CV shaft on my son's 4 cyl 4 dr Accord (Pass side and doesn't have intermediate shaft like our TL).
It is very long without an intermediate shaft (longer shafts tend to vibrate more than shorter shafts) but this one operates smooth.
I'll monitor it to verify its performance over time.

Is it more common for one side to go bad than the other? I've been searching for videos on how to do the passengers side with intermediate shaft and carrier but haven't found anything yet.
