Rust on left front axle

During the last oil change I asked my local mechanic to take a quick look at my 2013 4G TL to see if any repairs are needed. He put it up on the lift and said rear suspension might need to be watched but it's ok for now. Also, he said there's rust on left front axle with paint chipping away, which is critical to replace immediately. What do you guys think? I haven't had any problems with it. Wish I took a picture of it but I didn't.

Slightly off-topic but earlier this year, I was noticing the car ever so slightly swerving to the right when touching the brake pedal at high speeds. Talked to two different guys and both said looks like right control arm bushing that connects to the front of the vehicle is wearing out. It's not really bothering me much anymore, with just a little careful driving. But I did find that since the bushing can't be replaced separately, the only repair possible here is to replace the entire control arm. Any thoughts on this?

My CV joint has been rusty for 8 years and I don't care because external corrosion doesn't affect anything.
