Hi, I have a 2012 TL FWD, and today I was driving in slow traffic and noticed that the temperature gauge was climbing very quickly. Once I started driving the temp went down to normal which made me think of the radiator fan.

When I got home the radiator fan was not running but when I turned the car off, the radiator fan then turned on as usual. I turned the car back on, and the radiator fan turned off, and when I turned the the AC on the condenser fan turned on. So I know both of the fans "work" but even after the temperature got to the 3/4ths range the fan would not turn on.

What would cause this? I have read with older Acura's that it could be the radiator fan relay, however in the 4g owners manual for the TL it does not mention any radiator fan relay in any of the fuse boxes, so could it be on the fans themselves possibly?

I don't want to have to take it in to Acura so hopefully it is something I can do to fix myself.

And when I say the radiator fan turned on as usual when I turned the car off, i'm talking about how it runs for a few minutes to the cool the car off even when the engine is off.

Did anyone have any advice on this? My 2012 TL Base just started having this issue....any ideas where to start?

The A/C condenser fan relay is one but the radiator fan is a different relay. That may be where I'd start. (under the hood fuse box).

I attached a PDF from my 2010 but you may still be able to use it, same logic maybe different fuse numbers.

Which manual is this from?
Would you happen to have some more pages related to coolant temperature logic? Specifically about the radiator fan sensor activating @ low or high fan velocity, and would that be one or both fans?
