Problems after replacing turn signals

Hey fellas, so I replaced turn signal bulbs to LED bulbs and now my turn signal flashes 3 times faster. The side mirror and the back are super fast but the actual turn signal in the front is regular speed. Inside the car the 2 turn arrows also blink like 3 times faster. Yet when I turn on emergency lights all 3 blink at the same regular speed.

Anyone had this problem or knows a fix around it ?

Thanks.

:shakehead, it's because the car is in essence is seeing a burnt out bulb, due to the decreased resistence of the leds

you put back in the regular bulbs, and it more then likely will go back to normal

Interesting... My friend also bought a replacement for his 9005(daytime) bulb and I just put it in to test it on one side of the car. Later I got a message saying that my daytime running bulb on that side isn't working and told me to just restart the engine. It was working fine though. Can this be the reason for the turn signal flashing so fast ? Also is it possible to get into the computer and slow them down ?

same idea, it's seeing the a decrease in resistance, reason for the message
(actually i used the wrong terms, it's actually the increase in resistance, causing a lower current flow, that the computer senses)

and to fix it (any energy savings is out the door, cause it is still going to be drawing the same amount of power with the regular bulbs)

edit: as far as changing the parameters in the computer, only time i have heard of that is on trucks, and that is on commercial trucks, with work bodies on the back

Cool, thank you I'll look into getting a resistor

Have a look around the 3G TL section. Look for "Switchback LED's" and resistor threads. There are a few with good install pics if you some reference. Won't be exactly the same, but you can see where/how they mounted them, what resistors and source, etc.

Lazha...you probably found your resistor but if you haven't here are the resistors I used: http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...dresistor.html

You will need to get a resistor for each LED signal. 2 for the front and 2 for the rear. But in my case I only did the fronts and kept the rear stock.

Those resistors heat up so instead of mounting it I actually used electric tape and taped up both wires of the resistors to make one and made it float.

Which resistors did you get Angelo? I have the same problem but I think I wired it wrong the first time. I still have my switchbacks in just been hyper flashing. I want to fix this but I'm not sure as to which resistor to get (theres like 5 different ones all saying load resistors). Do i get the lower W higher OHM one?

^ I got the RL 650
RL-650
RL-2525
RL-650 Tail Light Load Resistor,
RL-650 Tail Light Load Resistor
6 Ohm, 50 Watt resistors can be connected across the turn signal bulbs to simulate the load of a regular filament bulb (2 Amp load). Measuers 1.96"L x .64"W x .60"H. Leads are 12 inches long.
