Pet Seats and Seat Covers?

Every once in a while I need to take my 32 lb. French Bulldog with me in my new TL. My 3G TL had pretty tough leather, but the leather in the 4G is MUCH softer and I'm afraid of him digging his nails into the seats or armrest and damaging them.

Can anyone suggest a good car seat or easy-to-use car seat cover that slips on and off easily?

I don't want something that's on the seat all the time.

I saw some great car seats for smaller dogs that are deep and wide, but nothing that will support a 32 lb. puppy!

Thanks!

I just throw an old blanket down when I have my dog with me. Free.

It's custom fit for the car. $250 to protect the seats on a $40k car doesn't seem like alot to me. Either way, I thought I'd just post that as it didn't seem the OP knew about it as an option.

jzacuto........I wanted a French Bulldog but they were too pricey here in Dallas......so the wife just picked up a Pug instead (her second)....It's one of the ugliest dogs I have never seen but I still love'em

Hey wow! Sorry, I missed all of the replies! Thanks everyone!

I've looked into those hammocks, the problem being that it doesn't stop him from getting his nails on the door panels. He's a wiggle worm. He'll find his way into anything, literally!!

The best seat we had was one that goes in the front and straps into the seat belt. It raises the dog enough so he can see out the window. The problem is that he's gotten older, bigger and wiser. Keeping him in the seat is nearly impossible.

It's fine in the Ridgeline with those thick leather seats that don't scratch as easily. But in my TL, I worry that he'll tear right through them!
