Odd problem with windshield washer

My windshield washer squirts water just fine, but I have to manually move the wand to swipe to make the wiper move. Any idea what causes this and cure? first defect in my new car

^ Red means sarcasm, FYI.

I dont think thats normal. If you hold it long enough it should spray then activate the wipers.

According to the owner's manual, the wipers are supposed to move, but they don't. You can hold it for quite a long time, and nothing happens. The question is, can the dealer fix this, and is it even worth it to bring it back for something so small.

Well, now it is working okay. Wonder if I held it longer, or if there was just some kind of glitch.
