My first 4G gliche!

I filled up last night, (WITH PREMIUM 76 LOL, $2.09), and I drove down the road then the "tighten gas light" indicator came on in the MID display. I figured no worries, when I stop I'll tighten it some more. Initially I tightened to 3 clicks. So I hit the button, and by the way I love the gas spout area with that tough plastic, tightened the cap completely again, and when I got back in the car, the "tighten gas cap" indicator light was still on? Once back home, I took the cap off all the way, then screwed it back on, 3 clicks tight, and the sensor was still on? Hmm...

I don't have time to take it in, as I'm off to the NAM show in Anaheim, this should be a nice drive, it's 76 degrees during the day and clear as a bell here in So Cal.

It takes several driving cycles for the car to 'learn' that there isn't a problem.

The "tighten gas light" is not a cliche; it usually means what it says--tighten the gas cap. If for some reas...oops. Did you mean glitch? Then yeah, it is a glitch.

Just yesterday my drivers side window glitched on me. I auto rolled it down, flicked a cig out the window, then rolled it back up. It went halfway up, then auto rolled back down about 90%, all by itself lol. It did this all day, and today too. Just now though I was in the car and it was not doing it. Very weird.

Serves you right for littering.....maybe the smoke inside your car messed up the switch?

lollllllllll welcome to NYC man. Feel free to toss whatever you like out the window, including children and pets. I just stick to butts though.

Also, not sure if your smoke in the car comment was just sarcastic. If it wasn't and you actually think this could be the cause, you have more issues than we have time for here lol.

well, I was kinda making light of my littering slam...but it is true smoking in your car can ruin your electronics as well as mess up switches etc.
And you have a hard drive as well.....and you're right , I have issues...many!! LOL
A simple google search will lead to lots of articles such as this one http://answers.google.com/answers/th...id/115859.html

I smoke like a chimney though, and have since I started. Hasn't yet ruined anything...except my lungs, my tastebuds, my youth, and my health. But who counts that stuff anyway!

Okay GLITCH fixed. The gliche spelling was me just being silly. Thanks for the tip ACID horse...

So I fired her up this morning and the indicator in the MID came up again, so I opened up gas cap again, and closed it, and it was still on. Then I reset the trip meter, and it went off at the next restart in Anaheim! Go figure? Whew! I thought the car was gonna be at the dealers on Monday for ours trying to figure out this one, but it's done.

I told you, it takes several driving cycles after the cap is on tight for the system to 'learn' and then the light goes out.

Colin, is it driving cycles, ignition on/off cycles, or a combination of both?
