Loud Vibration noise

I don't really drive my TL to much, but I was driving it for the past two days and noticed a loud vibration noise, with a deep bass sound to it. It was happening around 1500 rpms when I was just cruising. It would last around 5 seconds and go away. The sound starts on the initial start of cruising at 1500 rpms. So if you start from a stop and get to those rpms or slow down and get to those rpms it will give the noise. Which also would be around 40 mph, I was looking at the rpms for some reason but has anyone experienced this? Thanks

Search the forum for "torque converter" issue.

2 questions
1. were'nt you planing on selling it?
2. is it an all-wheel drive model or fwd.

definitely sounds like a TC issue though

I did a search looking for it and came up with whistling noises and some other stuff. I posted this thread and did another search and the TC issues popped up after I posted.

As for selling it, I think I'm going to just keep it for awhile, the repaint issue has knocked four grand off the trade in value the last two times I went to trade it in. Even if I was going to sell it I would still fix it. Who wants to drive a car with issues and avoid fixing them? The car is still under warranty and it's a CPO that I got the 7 year 100k warranty on. It's also an AWD, the FWD doesn't have a TC.

It doesn't ? we are talking about the torque converter having an issue not the transfer case.

After I saw your post, I had to look at mine again. I was thinking transfer case not TC.
