Lock Button on Door Handles Not Working

I have the keyless ignition on a 13' tech.

Like the title says the button on both doors stopped locking the car a few days ago. The remote fob will lock the doors when I press the lock button so I know the motors are fine. Also the doors will unlock when you put your hand in the handle.

It doesn't work with either the driver #1 or #2 key fob.

I searched and wasn't able to find anyone else with this problem. I'm certain it's a setting I'm missing not an actual "problem" but I can't seem to figure it out. I'd rather not waste an hour of my life with a dealer visit.

Thanks

I am having a similar but different issue with the door handle lock. Mine works fine to lock the doors, but there doesn't seem to be away to unlock all the doors using the driver side handle. The passenger & hatch handle both will open all doors fine.

Any ideas?

I have the RDX....I have found the settings on the dash display but there doesn't seem to be one for this.

My Driver's side Door Lock Button is broken. It started as an intermittent fault and is now completely unserviceable. Passenger side works 100%. Has anyone had this fixed? If so what is the failed part? Thoughts on quick fixes other than taking it to the dealer.

Unfortunately same issue here. It won't lock when I use the door handle button. I am thinking of warming it up with a hair dryer tomorrow and see what happens. However, I also tried to insert the actual key and it won't turn. Can someone try to re-create this?

I suspect ice may have cause some damage in the entire mechanism inside that part.

Now both passenger and driver buttons quit working. Another reason may be that the sensors think there is a key fob left inside the car so they don't lock. Cold climate testing is very tricky.

I think Acura needs to do some more cold weather testing on long term components, not just take a new car and test it in the cold. They need to go from cold to warm and back to cold with the same car over a period of time to detect all these small issues.

If the mechanism has died, the outer handle part is around $140 x 2. But the process to change it is not an easy one!

Sounds like a sensor issue.

Sugi, did you ever get this fixed? I have the exact same issue and it developed in the same way: intermittent failure followed by complete failure. The passenger switch doesn't get used nearly as much, which is probably why it still works 100%. I suppose I could move the passenger-side switch to the driver's side, but I'd rather not open up both doors if I don't need to.

I'd be interested to know if you went the DIY or dealer route, or if you're just living with it for now and locking with the fob.

I had dealer fix it under extended warranty. The whole handle was replaced.
