Irritating noise
Irritating noise
my 2010 tl is making a weird noise. sounds like a "creeking" noise. coming from the right rear. i only have 12,000 miles, & its very irritating. wondering if its my trunk, or shocks. any inputs would be cool. im taking it to acura next week. if it is the shocks, i hope its covered. cause must b a defect if only 12,000 mikes

I get rattles on the passenger A and B pillar. Went to the dealership a couple times but they never resolved the problem. The last time I went in they said the rattle was caused by me lowering the car, thus the car body structure is taking more bounce and force. Any suggesting on what I should do now?

Not sure if this is your problem but try the link below from a couple of years ago. I had a creaking noise from the right rear wheel well area and this helped me. There is a TSB that Acura had issued.

In the link I posted above, the post that I found most helpful was the one by under9hell on 10/5/11 where he posted three pdf’s, the first pdf he posted is the TSB I used.
I read TSB 11-024 and on page 4 – step 14 states “Place a flat tip screwdriver between the rear shelf member and the rear shelf metal panels. Create a gap to separate the panels. A hammer may be needed to get the screwdriver between the panels.”
After reading this I decided that before going to the dealer and having them “hammer away” and pry apart metal panels in my trunk I figured I would give it a try first feeling that I would be much more careful.
I followed the instructions in the TSB but I was careful not to pry the metal that far apart, just enough to fit the thin red WD-40 spray tube/nozzle in the gap.
I then sprayed WD-40 and then white grease in gap, a lot of it. It’s been 1 ½ years and I haven’t heard the noise since.
So let me get this straight, your car wasn't making this noise, then it was hit by another car, now you hear this new noise and you think its an acura defect? Ever consider the hit and run has something to do with it? Common sense isn't all that common.
well bro. it aint from the accident. had it checked at the body shop. it is the trunk insulator. so if anyone of you get that noise. you know
