Headlamp washer ???

Ok, I just realize now that my headlight are receving windshield washer everytime I'm washing my windshield?

Even if I'm not touching the button!! I know my foglights are on when it happens....and it's not happening all the time?

Can somebody help me with that? I might also read the owner manual!!!

It's just that, I don't want to use that device, not sure how good it is for the paint
Or at least I don't want them to start everytime I'm washing my windshield!!
Thank you!

The headlight washer will automatically activate with your wind shield washer when your headlights are on. If they're off they will not activate.

If the headlight sprayer has activated once it will not spray every time with your wind shield washer. It probably waits like 10-15 minutes or something. You can always activate it manually too. There is no way to turn it off unfortunately. Sometimes I turn off my headlights for a minute so they dont spray.

I don't think it will hurt your paint, but they are annoying.

Actually, it's not THAT annoying but, let's say I'm at traffic light and I wash my windshield and a pedestrian is right next to the car, he will be splashed for real!!! MY god, those sprinklers are strong!!! (no whippers only pressure, it's understandable) But ok I'll remember the close your lights thing the time I wash my windshield.
Thanks!!

Actually, there's no "delay" function. The HL washer will activate the first time you activate the windshield washer while the lights are on. It shouldn't go again unless you manually press the HL washer button, or you turn off the ignition and then restart. Page 132 of (my) manual.

Perhaps in sunny Cal, but here in Alberta, as well as the OP's province of Quebec, the washers are a really nice thing to have in the winter.

At least they beat the hell out of standing in the cold washing them down with a service station squeegee a few times a week. Fortunately when it gets cold enough (like now, -25C...that's -13F for those of you south of the border) there's no moisture to get things dirty.

Well I still want to use it if I need to...so I won't disconnect any fuse.
But knowing that about only the first time after it's my choice to push or not the button...that's good for me.

at -5 Celsius it can be helpful but like you said, at -25C, everything is frozen so...it's cool

They're ok.. Acura OBVIOUSLY didn't ever test them out though, as when driving the headlights will wash once, the windshield wipers are finished wiping the window, then the damn headlight washers fire a second time.. of course the second shot always sprays the damn windshield again, thus requiring the driver (ME!) to manually wipe the effen windshield again.. EVERY TIME. ugh.. other stupid thing is the LOW WASHER FLUID warning dings even after clearing the warning. Go around the corner, DING.. ugh.. I gotta say, this is the worst Honda/Acura I've owned for stupid shit like this, plus the poor build quality of squeaks rattles and general BS problems..
