Growl/grumbling at low speeds, between 30-40mph
I have a '10 TL auto....Well I have a low grumbling or vibration at low speeds 30-40mph. It doesnt happen every single time but often enough to notice it. Ive had the car for a month now. I took it to a local Acura dealership in Northern Virginia and told them about it, even suggestested the software update and torque converter issue but the master Tech said its not and its not loud enough. I had them check the car for everything and for any recalls or updates and they said there isnt anything for the car and the updates only work if there is an issue or if the car is assigned a software update but the car has no available updates.
They said the tires look like they are cupping and it could be that. The tires are brand new only a month old and were balanced so how can it be a cupping issue. The vibration only happens during a moderate acceleration but when you let off it stops. I drove with the master Tech and he said its not the torque converter that. What do you guys think? Any suggestions?
I'm coming from driving a manual for the last 10 Years so going back to an automatice feels weird even the shifting feels funny like its too soon and I feel the downshifts as well also.

I am experiencing the same noise issue. The only difference is the noise is very loud at times. It seems like the transmission is having trouble finding the correct gear to be in. I took my car (2011 Acura TL FWD) to the dealership and they had a technician ride with me. I was able to produce the vibration in the steering wheel and passenger seat for the technician, however I was not able to produce the loud grumbling sound you mentioned. One of my friends is a mechanic with Honda and he believes it is the torque converter and that a software update should be available. I mentioned this to the dealership and they said there the software update is only available for the AWD model TL which is correct. Since I was not able to produce the sound the dealership was not able to inform Acura of the issue.
I do hope Acura can find a fix for this as the grumbling sound is very annoying.

I think I notice the same issue. I have a '10 AWD auto but have noticed the same thing in an '11 AWD auto I've driven. It's sort of like an engine/transmission/exhaust sound and feel. It's kind of weird and hard to pinpoint. It reminds me of the sound and feel of a 4-cylinder engine under hard acceleration.
Yeah I just dont get whats wrong with it. Its like I have to wait for it to get worse to bring it to the dealer for them to really pay attention to and diagnose the problem. And the dealer I brought it to is supposed to be really good with customer service and repairs...smdh.
DrewQ35, I had my friend who is a technician with Honda ride with me. He heard the noise. He said to continue to visit the dealership so they will have record of this in case something happens with the torque converter outside of the warranty.
Here is to hoping we get this resolved

I have this issue as well on my 2010 TL SH-AWD. It occurs below 35mph when I give it a very slight throttle during city/local driving.
I was convinced it was a bad torque converter. I had a reputable dealership's master technician drive the car around with me. He replicated the issue repeatedly and he confirmed it was not the Torque Converter as the noise was too low and vibrations were insignificant. I admit it is a bit subtle but I assumed it was because my car was at the onset of a torque converter problem.
He blamed the vibration on the mechanical complication of the SH-AWD drive... namely engine mounting direction + front differential to front wheels + rear differential to rear wheels. All this transition of rotation can sometimes cause vibrations much like the one I am experiencing.
I am still hesitant to believe him as this issue did not exist when I first bought the car. I still think its the Torque Converter and sadly... I'll have to monitor until it gets worse to bring it back to the dealership.
