engine oil leak - oil pump gasket

Today, my independent mechanic informed me that the oil pump gasket is leaking oil. There is also some oil residue up in the front of the engine. Is it possible that when my TL was for excessive oil consumption TSB, things didn't get put together right?

Would oil pump gasket be covered by the powertrain warranty? Does anyone have any experience with that?

More than likely yes since the bottom of the engine comes apart for them to rebuild the engine. Take it to acura should be covered under the work they did. The "gasket" isn't really a gasket but a thin layer of hondabond that is applied.

Thank you for responding. Would you think that my dealer would honor this issue 2 years after the job was done? Is they don't, do I have a case for powertrain warranty? I am not %100 sure if any of the item listed below would apply?

The powertrain warranty reads:
ENGINE Cylinder block and head and all internal parts; timing gears and gaskets; timing chain/belt and cover; flywheel; valve covers;
oil pan; oil pump; intake and exhaust manifolds; engine mounts; turbocharger housing and all internal parts; engine/powertrain
control module; water pump; fuel pump; seals and gaskets.

I figured I would give an update on this situation. I went with an independent shop to do a basic inspection, and yes, they confirmed an oil leak from several components. At that point, I made an appointment with my dealer to bring this issue to their attention. To my surprise, they indeed confirmed the same without giving me a runaround - a first for them. I didn't want to investigate if their prior TSB work contributed to the leak or not, as at that point, I didn't care. They already obtained warranty work authorization, and Acura will cover everything, so I am a very happy camper. I am expecting the car to be ready mid-week.
