Driver's seat shifts in the floor tracks

When I first got my 2010 TL back in Sept. 2009, I noticed the driver's seat would shift forward in the floor rails when braking, and then shift back when accelerating. I took it to the dealer and complained about it, but I was told it was normal. I took it back for other issues in the next 2 years, and while I was there, each time I repeated the same complaint. The tech showed me a new 2012 TL had a driver's seat that shifted just as much. I said that it needs fixing too. But they were convienced I had no problem.
On this forum, someone stated there was a TSB out for loose seats, so I took my car to a differant dealer and did a side by side comparison with the service writer of my car and one of their 2013 TL loaner cars. It was very noticable.
They ordered a new floor frame-track, installed it, and I now have a seat that stays put while I drive.

Good to know, and ive also seen the bulletin. Mine goes in tonight; I hope they'll still be willing to do the bulletin even if they cant duplicate the problem, since for me its kinda intermittent. We'll see..

I showed the tech writer the shaking back and forth by using my hands. I stood outside the car and put one hand flat on the seat bottom and the other flat against the seat back. I could rock it back and forth, and better detect the movement with the hands then with my bottom.

this happened in my MDX....dealer replaced the seat tracks no questions asked under warranty. i showed the tech and the SA what i was talking about after they initially said "cannot replicate." your seat shifting around freely as minute as it might be is NOT normal.

OK, got it to work. You have to "prime" the system with a few steps first and the PDF will open. The sticky gave all the steps.

Thanks Little Gator!
